TUA Opens New Automotive Office In Michigan

As part of the Toray Microfibers Division, Toray Ultrasuede (America), Inc. (TUA) has opened a representative office in Detroit (Troy), Michigan. The new office will be responsible for all the company's automotive-related business activities in the Americas, directly serving the OEM sector as well as the After-Market.

"We have a product that's been a huge success with European carmakers," said Yoshifumi Hamada, President & CEO of TUA. "Now, as part of our global strategy, we're positioning ourselves at the heart of the American auto industry."

In line with this global strategy, all TUA materials for automotive use will continue to be branded worldwide as Alcantara®.

TUA also announced that the new Michigan office would be headed by Ole Hansen and Cosimo Carfagna. Mr. Hansen arrives from the Automotive Division of TUA sister company Alcantara S.p.A. in Milan, Italy and will serve as Business Manager in Michigan. Cosimo Carfagna, another Alcantara Automotive Division veteran, will be in charge of Technical Marketing. The office will also be supported by local staff hires.
