TUA Debuts Major Home Furnishing Upholstery Covers Initiative at Showtime
HIGH POINT, N.C., June 1, 2008 - Toray Ultrasuede (America), Inc., (TUA),
makers of Ultrasuede®, the original luxury suede fabric, introduces a diverse
collection of “first-ever” products at Summer Showtime 2008, underscoring
the company’s commitment to the residential home furnishings business
and interior design trade.
The centerpiece of the new programs from Toray Ultrasuede (America), Inc.,
(TUA) is Designer’s Choice, a collection of signature colors selected
especially for Ultrasuede® by high-profile interior and furniture designers,
and conceived by Ultrasuede creative consultant Jane Matteson.
Designer’s Choice by Ultrasuede® will be prominently featured in
the company’s showroom at Space 370 in the Market Square Textile Tower.
The designers and their unique colors are: Barclay Butera, Barclay Butera Blue;
Rick Lee, MagentaModern and South Beach; Vladimir Kagan, Kagan Red; and Stanley
Jay Friedman, Stanley and Iris.
Complementing the signature shades is a collection of “New Neutrals,” developed
by Matteson and inspired by a multi-hued neck scarf belonging to Kagan. A progression
of five grey tones includes Elephant, Stone, Fog, Feather and French Grey. The
grey palette is especially suited to use with the new Kagan Red as an accent,
Matteson says.
Matteson additionally directed the development of a new neutral called Lavender
Mist, also debuting at Showtime.
Other first-time products include Cord, a striped version of Ultrasuede® and
a three-pattern collection of embossed articles – Galaxy, Basket and Ostrich – in
a wide range of colors such as Almond, Sand, Topaz, Cumin, Cactus, Pewter, Hide,
Black, Brownstone and Ginger and grouped under the heading ‘Dimensions.’
Also new to this market are on-trend finishes including metallics in Rosewood,
Champagne and Pearl; and leather looks which boast the high-performance benefits
of Ultrasuede®.
