Ultrasuede® European Collection for
Autumn/Winter 2004

The Ultrasuede® European Collection for for Autumn/Winter 2004, which debuted at Première Vision in Paris this past September, is now available in the U.S.

Designed, produced and finished in Italy by TUA sister company Alcantara SpA, the Ultrasuede® European Collection combines advanced techniques with this year’s most sought-after color ranges. The living riches deep in the earth's crust, guardian par excellence of noble minerals, indestructible alloys and precious stones, inspire this collection. With its still hidden treasures, the uncontaminated earth is a creative spring that can pour forth sophisticated solutions enhancing the characteristics that typify Ultrasuede® fabrics softness, lightness and strength.

Fabric types include embroidered surfaces with floral or geometric patterns combining a suede touch with the lightness of mohair. There are a variety of stitching styles; those with elasticized yarns produce a puckered effect reminiscent of corsetry, while the irregular zig-zag styles suggest the natural patterns of rock strata.

On the glamour front, the new collection is enriched with some new finishes. Techniques such as spraying and coating are used to create surfaces with a ferrous, iridescent effect or, for more technical-functional applications, anti-gripping surfaces ideal for sportswear and accessories.

The color palette of this autumn-winter collection has an ecological flavor with earthy hues ranging from deep greens to reds and browns, in a chromatic mix evocative of tree roots, rusty metal and stones submerged in the subsoil.
