It was Ultrasuede® in Paradise - Paradise Island, that is. To introduce the new Halston Signature Spring 2001 Swimwear Collection, Halston LLC took over the grounds of the legendary Ocean Club on Paradise Island. "I can't think of a better place to debut swimwear," remarked Halston creative director Craig Natiello. "The sapphire skies and the turquoise waters look amazing with the colors and fabrics used in this collection." A sign of how popular Ultrasuede® has become for warm-weather fashions, the fabric was part of a dozen different beach and poolside ensembles, including string and knot bikinis, crisscross and strapless swimsuits, jungle motif skirts and dramatic wrap and pouf "cover-ups." A new venture for Halston, the Spring 2001 Swimwear Collection is currently on view at the Halston showroom on Seventh Avenue and will be available at retail locations in 2001. <<< Click photos to enlarge view
